Monk Gyatso: This was a very exciting chapter that was mostly things
happening, and not an easy lesson to find, but some good themes keep running
throughout.
We see Aang on his own,
without his friends, and that even being the avatar, he is vulnerable. It takes his friend, the blue spirit, to help
him out.
We also see Aang’s willingness to go off and take care of
his friends, which shows how he takes responsibility.
In Zuko, we see the power of his will and his choices, and
wonder what he will finally choose to become . . .
Reminder:
This is not a fully-realized lesson plan, but is rather a beginning
point for discussion in your family or on this blog!
