202: The Cave of Two Lovers

Monk Gyatso:   In this story we see how difficult it can be to change.  In Zuko, we see that part of him wants to let go of all the hurt and anger in his life, but old habits die hard.  Zuko is both a prince and a very focused person, this has led him to be very selfish; thinking only of what he needs, and disregarding the needs of others.  This journey he is on will not be easy.

The goofy nomad characters do have a good point: we must take one step at a time, and we can’t be so focused on our end goal that we don’t learn from or enjoy the journey along the way.  Now, they take this idea too far, but we need to keep in mind that we need to see the little things, enjoy them, and walk one step at a time, not trying to get somewhere too quickly (we also saw this last episode with Aang thinking maybe he should attack the fire nation right away, before going through the steps to master each element himself).  We need to find the correct balance between working towards goals, but not becoming too focused on them.
