Monk Gyatso: Change is hard, but it is something that will always happen
in life. Life goes through different
phases and periods. Sometimes it seems
that just when we get comfortable, then things change on us. We always have to adjust, and adapt.
Sometimes we expect the world to stay the same when we leave
a place or a person for a while. The
world keeps on moving, and when we go back to visit these people and places, we
are often shocked the way things have gone on without us.
Aang is at first bothered to see something different
and unlike the way it used to be, but then we see his maturity as he comes to
accept the changes and differences.
It
is hard to move on, and we sometimes try and hold onto something that we need
to let go. We need to have the maturity
and understanding that life continues to progress and we need to let ourselves
move into often uncharted territory which leads to new opportunities of
learning and growth.
Another lesson we learn is that everyone has talents and
special abilities.
Sokka has long been
the brunt of jokes, but we see here that he has a pretty good mind for solving
practical problems.
We see the boy Teo,
who is unable to walk, really excel in guiding his glider.
We all need to work together and share the
blessings others have. We should also
try and help others realize their blessings and strengths, as it is sometimes
hard for people to see their own talents.
And of course, we should seek to find and grow our own strengths and use
them to bless others.
